The Nib
Due to its characteristic strength and elasticity, 21 K gold alloy is used to create the nib. Master artisans craft the precious metal with the utmost care and meticulous attention to detail. As it responds beautifully to the idiosyncratic hand movements of writers, indium alloy is applied to the nib point. Pressing the nib into paper is rendered unnecessary as the weight of the pen ensures an even, smooth flow of ink for a completely effortless, luxurious handwriting experience.
Arita-yaki porcelain
Arita-yaki porcelain has been an important traditional industry in Japan for some 400 years. Originating in the town of Arita on the southern island of Kyushu, Japan, it is one of the most well known styles of Japanese pottery in the world. Techniques were developed and refined to produce many kinds of porcelain ware, the export to Europe of which began early in the 17th century.
Governmental Recognition
In 2008 at the 34th G8 summit held in Hokkaido, Japan, world leaders were each given an Arita Fountain Pen Set as a gift from the Japanese government. The same year, it was also exhibited at the Louvre museum as part of celebrations to mark 150 years of relations between Japan in France.

These highly developed ‘transfer’ techniques, the very best in the world, produce delicate lines and graduation of color more detailed than is possible by drawing directly on the porcelain by hand.
