The colorless shot glass faceted with basket and chrysanthemum pattern was one of the earliest design of Edo Kiriko. Thus we named it the past. On the other hand, as to the black covered shot glass faceted with kaleidoscopic patterns, we named it the present as the black color was the latest addition to Edo Kiriko. Making these shot glasses boxed together as a pair, we named it the Past and Present Pair to visualize the long Edo Kiriko history by the contrast of color and design differences between the two small shot glasses. Even though red and blue colors are the commonly used combinations for Edo Kiriko, it also seems attractive to pair them with historical factors. At Horiguchi Kiriko, we custom order the bare glasses with their shapes carefully designed exclusively to meet the requests of high-class Japanese restaurants. We care about the glass shape which is one characteristic of Horiguchi Kiriko glassware products. As this pair is a storyteller of Edo Kiriko history, it is suited for those who are looking for a unique gift different from others or interested in Japanese history and culture.
