A multitalented samurai, Kanetsugu Naoe, symbolized by a character “愛” (meaning “Love” in English) on the emblem of his Kabuto helmet, led his country and people to survive through wars, diplomacies and economic crises at war-torn Sengoku period - Premium Gold version

Kanetsugu Naoe was a warlord who served Kagekatsu Uesugi. He is famous for wearing a "Kabuto" (battle helmet) with a "Maedate" front piece shaped in the character "愛" ("love"). He was one of Kagekatsu's personal aides when he was young and later became chief advisor because of his outstanding talent. He used his ability for political, diplomatic and military activities. His work was appraised as flawless. He was a close friend of Mitsunari Ishida. He is believed to have started the "Aizu Seibatsu" (an expedition to punish and conquer Aizu) that triggered the Battle of Sekigahara, and played a role in Western Army. He is also famous for the letter he wrote called the "Naoe Letter" which was written as a reply to a letter from Ieyasu requesting an explanation for fortifying his defenses.
